Educational Objective:

This course is for the student who holds a Private Pilot Certificate and wishes to upgrade to a an Instrument rating. An Instrument rating allows for flight into Instrument Meteorological Conditions under Instrument Flight Rules.

Many employers now require an Instrument rating of most new hire pilots. This is one of the most challenging, but important ratings that a Pilot will obtain.

Admission requirements:

A student must be at least 18 years of age, provide proof of High School graduation or GED, hold a third class FAA Medical Certificate, and be able to read, speak, write, and understand English.

Course Description

Ground School:
Student studies rules, instruments, regulations, navigation, weather, aircraft performance and other items necessary to perform as an Instrument rated pilot.

Practical Test Preparation
Student will learn to fly the airplane without outside reference and learn instrument procedures for takeoff, in route and approaches, in poor weather with reference only to on-board navigation and instrument systems.
